One of the cameras I use to shoot many of my VR panoramas is a motorized, high-resolution scanning back camera called a Panoscan MKIII. I can utilize the unique aspects of this camera to produce interesting panoramas that can’t really be achieved with any other equipment. The example below was created by shooting approximately 50 high-resolution 360-degree images over a span of about 2 hours. These images were then stacked in such a way to give the final result, which I have presented for viewing at its full resolution in Zoomify format.

A few more examples of these types of images can be found on my personal VR Photography website.
